My Story

I want to help raise funds on my birthday for GIFT, a charity very close to my heart.

With your generous support, since coronavirus developed, GIFT has in the last few months:

  • Given out over 11000+ ready-to-go meals for most needy and vulnerable.
  • Given over 200 educational sessions online to schools, synagogues and youth groups.
  • Have created free online education sessions, and activities. www.jgift.org/education/online
  • Provided hundreds of hot lunches for children on free lunch programme in schools across London (GIFT was approached by schools to help).
  • Created a free virtual tutoring club online, with over 340 pairs, pairing students from year 11-university who are available to tutor in a range of different subjects.
  • Taken an increase of 25% of new referrals from Jami, Jewish Care, Norwood and JWA. Now supporting over 345+ households each week with food and practical support.
  • Provided over 900+ Pesach food packages.
  • £224,000 worth of support packages since mid-March.
  • Responded to 5000+ requests for help in essential shopping, deliveries or picking up prescriptions for those unwell and isolating.
  • GIFT has partnered with Barnet Hospital Trust and NHSOS to distribute 4200 NHS packages to NHS staff and care homes, over 40,000 items. (Spearheaded by Howard and Beverley Calvert).
  • Countless phone calls and safe visits to the elderly and vulnerable.
  • Over 1600 personalised cards written to elderly in care homes.
  • Delivered United Synagogue packages for Pesach to congregants they were unable to reach.
  • Helped make Pesach seder and Shavuot packs for Kisharon residents.

GIFT is committed to building a generation of givers and this is only possible with the support from donors like yourself.
